Describing the Oral Health of Warfarin Users. A Short Report

Aim: To describe the burden of oral diseases and self-reported periodontal disease patients under Oral Anticoagulation Therapy (OAT) with warfarin.Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted. Validated questionnaires assessed self-re-ported demographic variables. After calibration (Kappa > 0.80), an examiner evaluated dental caries need for prostheses. Statistical analysis involved proportions measures central tendency. Results: The sample consisted 158 individuals, a mean age 58.8 years (SD = 12.1), which 62.7% participants were women. average DMFT (Decayed, Mis-sing, Filled Teeth) index 22.9 7.6), missing component being highest (Mean 16.23). use maxillary prosthesis (53.2%) higher than mandibu-lar (32.3%). mandibular reached 66.5%. percentage partici-pants that referred gum disease, tooth migration, mobility 29.6%, 37.4%, 30.4%, respectively.Conclusions: among individuals undergoing OAT is worrisome.
